Project Management: Overseeing and contributing to planning and execution of events and communications campaigns to raise issue and brand awareness. Directing staff and freelancers toward meeting assignment goals and deadlines.
Media relations/communications: Establishing and maintaining media contacts, pitching and placing relevant articles in all types of media. Executing media campaigns, speech writing and developing message strategy. Website content development and maintenance.
Social Media: Utilizing the most effective social media tools, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, to advance messages or campaigns. Capitalizing on breadth of social networks to spread consistent messages to a diverse, online audience. Using blogs to expand messages through storytelling.
Editorial Design/Website Maintenance: Planning and designing magazines, newsletters, brochures, fliers and other printed materials for public relations purposes. Creating and managing content for websites.
Editing: Excelling in preparing materials to be clear, concise and creative for print and web communications. Proficient in copy editing and proofreading skills to meet Associated Press, Chicago and American Psychological Association styles.
Writing/reporting: Using journalistic, academic and media relations skills to tell stories, promote ideas and convey information.
Multimedia: Photography, videography and audio for print and web.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Apple and PC platforms using Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Drupal CMS, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Cubase, Soundslides, Quark Xpress, SPSS. Type 80-90 wpm. Basic HTML
